Our business.

Our shop, store rooms and offices are situated in the historic town of Berwick upon Tweed which is on the beautiful Northumbria coast. Our online business is run from the back of the brimming shop which gives us the big advantage of having plenty of stock for both shop and web.  We have had years of working face to face with customers so you can be confident that we are real and experienced retailers working all day to keep our customers happy.

Our Developments

The business started out life as Danish Design over 10 years ago and has developed into a well established shop, mail order and online retail business. Over the years we have extended our range to include items from further afield than Denmark but we still search for the same quality and detail. Driftliving now incorporates Danish Design so that all tastes, trends and budgets can be satisfied under one roof.  

Our Products

We sit with Scotland to the north, hills and borderlands to the west, sea and Scandinavia to the east and Northumbria spreads out to the south so the products we sell are often inspired by and a reflection of this. Some lines are ongoing and some change with the seasons. Some are exclusive but all are carefully chosen.
We hope you will find a purchase for every occasion and budget – a wedding, a friendship or just a special treat for yourself. We can gift wrap and deliver to an address of your choice.  If there is something that you can’t find, ask and we will do what we can to help.

Our Aims

To present to you products that are a pleasure to own and use. To provide a service that makes our customers feel valued. To do what we can when we can to minimize our impact on the environment by recycling packaging and using degradable packaging wherever possible, handwriting labels to reduce printing, encouraging our shop customers to do without a carrier bag (the bags we do have are paper and we sell Bags for Life). As time goes on we will endeavour to do more.
So quite simply we will always try to please our customers by putting in the extra effort where we can and we don’t mind doing that one bit.
